hey Amy! I took some similar skyward tree-shots yesterday. I think it's cool how the shading works - bigger and darker in the foreground, and some over-exposure to get the thin lines and a patttern of leaves w/out branches.
On higher-contrast shots like these I sometimes play w/ photoshop:
Image > Adjustments > Shadow/Highlight
and/or
Image > Adjustments > Exposure
sometimes it can bring out some detail where there's a lot of dark. Other times it makes the pic look fake, but it's fun to figure out.
